Last weekend my mother and I took a weekend trip to Philadelphia to visit an old friend of hers who recently settled in a loft and studio space there. Philadelphia is known for its dense history, but we discovered a city budding with a very exciting future. It is beautiful, diverse, artistic and there is room to breathe. We got a full, non-stop tour and saw everything from great design shops, galleries, and hiking trails (her sons went to rock climb, but us city girls were not prepared to venture that far in our ballet flats & sandals.... maybe next time).
