We work with each of our clients to help them interpret their design specifications from concept to install. For both our creative and technical expertise, Groundplans is entrusted to work diligently to ensure that design, construction and installation come together seamlessly so our clients can then focus their attention on other aspects of their projects. Using a variety of durable, sustainable and natural yarns, our designs are ethically produced with mills around the world that we partner directly with.

For several years we have collaborated with one of our architectural clients and world-renowned Tribeca firm to create custom handmade carpets for university and corporate campuses. Most recently we completed a project for their newly constructed building at Yale University, the Tsai Center for Innovation Thinking. As always, our client has created a state of the art environment that breeds collaboration through design. Brilliant curved glass walls connect the building to the campus by day, and beautifully reflect the building’s architectural details come sundown.

Jumping off from a previous project we developed with the firm, we had some initial materials to work from. Below, you can follow our process through photos from concept, to sampling, to manufacturing and final installation in situ.
